Small Shows with BIG Appeal!
In 1986, The Taffetas made their debut at the John Houseman Theatre in New York City. Two years later, The Taffetas (written by Rick Lewis) opened Off-Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theatre and subsequently moved to the Village Gate, with productions currently around the world. The Taffetas were featured on television's 48 Hours, CBS This Morning, Entertainment Tonight, PM Magazine, Live! with Regis and Kathy Lee. The Taffetas and in People magazine, while Time magazine selected The Taffetas as 'Critics Choice' for four consecutive weeks.
With the huge success of The Taffetas, Rick Lewis was compelled to write the male sequel, The Cardigans - those Swingin' Singin' Guys from Alpha Mu Phi Pi, which premiered at Westbeth Theatre Center, NYC in October 1989 (two weeks before the opening of a very similar all-male show wrapped in Plaid...) The Cardigans received the New York Bistro Award for Outstanding Musical Revue. Regional productions and a special Cardigan Christmas production in Tokyo followed, with successful productions around the country.
The Taffetas and The Cardigans created a formula that many other shows have tried to emulate over the past 25 years. But there's no dispelling the charm and innocence and clever musical arrangements, which are the driving forces behind these small shows.
Over the past 25 years, we've added more small cast shows which have delighted audiences far and wide. Let us help you entertain your audiences in a charming, clever, nostalgic evening that they'll remember for a long time...
